Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Eat the Elephant?

How do you eat an Elephant?

One bite at a time!

Some goals are just too big to take on all at once. You probably couldn't stop and do 400 Squats at once any more than you could swallow an Elephant whole. But 10 squats while waiting for your coffee to brew, another 10 when you brush your teeth, 20 when you take a break at work, etc., and before you know it, you have done 80 Squats today, you are Eating the Elephant, Bite by bite. Keep that up and you will have done 400 Squats without ever breaking a sweat!

Do I need any special equipment?

No! The only thing you need is you. Sometimes you may need to use a wall or a chair to do the exercises, but no special equipment is needed. You should be able to TAKE A BITE without even needing to break a sweat or change into workout clothes. Just take a few seconds, wherever you are, and TAKE A BITE!

Is this the only fitness plan I need?

That depends on your fitness goals. The best fitness plan is the one you will still be doing in 6 months. Consistency is key. If all you do is Eat the Elephant every day, you WILL get stronger! If you have been wanting to improve your fitness, but find you just don't have the time to go to a gym, or you just don't know where to start, then Eat the Elephant may be all you need to start seeing progress. But many people find that Eating the Elephant is a fun way to stay active throughout the day and supplement their other fitness goals and plans. We are all about people reaching their goals and enjoying getting stronger!

How do I get Started?

You just start where you are! Select a difficulty and start taking bites! There is always a Daily Graze and a Weekly Elephant to take bites out of. You can and should try to take bites out of both throughout the day.

The Daily Graze can be leveled up by completing it, earn enough XP for that exercise and you will get a bigger elephant the next time it is the Daily. But, be warned, not completing a Daily Graze will lose you XP, so stay on top of it every day.

The weekly Elephant is the big one. This is the challenge for the week. You will need to be consistent throughout the week, taking small bites here and there, in order to finish the weekly.

Then there is Feast Mode. Feast mode is where you give it all you've got for 5 minutes. Do as many reps as you possibly can, take breaks where needed, but keep taking bite after bite until the time is up. Every week there will be one day that has a feast Mode. When feast Mode is active you can chose when to start your feast, but be ready; once you start it, you can't stop it!

Feast mode is a great way to track your progress over time.
